Routine 1st gear canter for England, expected against a team no better than Step 2 (6th Tier) but you can only beat what's in front of you. Having said that England are supposedly 4th in the world rankings, what a joke, thay'd be lucky to make the top 10, how the hell do they make this BS up?
Well we've beaten both Brazil and Spain in last 18 months or so, add to that constant qualifying and it adds up. Granted we falter at tournaments but rankings include all games played and we tend to do alright.

Yes but we're still in no danger of winning anything anytime soon, look at the top 20, it's a joke. I know Brazil haven't earned any points as the next hosts but look at some of the teams above them. For me England would sit 8th at best behind the likes of Italy, Holland, Portugal, Brazil as well as the top 3

Only on penalties, never seen them outplay us. I wouldn't call any of them real class players. Over the hill centre back and a squad of players that play in a weak Portuguese league. This discussion was about them being higher than us in the rankings. Therefor the point of them replacing out players is relevant.

Well Nani is class and 3 of those I mentioned play for Real Madrid (plus Ronaldo), in fact only 5 of yesterday's entire squad play in Portugal, the rest are either in Spain or the likes of Zenit or Fenerbache. I guess we'll never know who's better until we meet them again though
A one of game doesn't make them better though. Wigan smashed Everton, saints beat Liverpool last week, but who are the better teams?

Wales well deserved the win last night. Hope Scotland turn over Serbia in the week now so we can aim to cement 3rd place for World Cup pot positions!
Being half Scottish, watching them is worrying!
- Adam is a disgrace to football and is perfectly at home at Stoke. Always a yard off the pace and could pick up 5 or 6 yellows every time I see him; which is usually off the bench and with about 20 mins action!!
- Miller was past it before he came to Cardiff over 2 years ago, and as already said, with Rhodes on the bench is insane! Even when Fletcher went off injured, still no Rhodes!
- Your midfield seems to be non-existant. We (Wales for christ sake, even with no Bale...) walked through you with simple passing!
- Surely there has to be better Scottish full backs out there?? Gunter, Wales' right back, had the freedom of his wing at any time of the game!
Strachan has alot of work to do...
Delighted with Wales though.. Ramsey, Williams (youngster on for Bale), Gunter and King all standing out. Nice to see Robson-Kanu get a goal aswell, as he always puts in a shift!

Agreed so by rights we should go by the FIFA rankings then and take it as gospel? Ony it has Columbia, Greece, Ecuador and Switzerland higher than Brazil and France
You either go by that or it's all a matter of opinion until 2 teams meet, even then one off games mean nothing :rofl:
The best team in he world is the one that wins the World Cup. I'd suggest that th rest don't really matter. For what's its worth, I think ranking are a bit skewed and sometime puzzling. But over the last fours years we've actually done ok, plus we tend to go out of tournament on pens so they count as draws as far as ranking points go. I would suggest that in my opinion, and also based on results England are a better team than Portugal, doesn't mean to say we'd beat them in a on off match.
