Speaking as a fan of the Mighty Mariners I would say probably very badly and there's still time for us to throw it away and go from top of the league a few weeks ago to outside of the play off zone yet.

It's a bit heartbreaking to see how we play nowadays, as up to few years ago we were known for our attractive football. But last time I saw them, calling it hoofball and head tennis was probably overselling it. So I've given up now. I even used to frequent a Grimsby Town forum but I left it to come here. That's how bad it was.

The fishy by any chance? I'm registered on there myself. Sorry for the FA trophy link, that must still be raw, I'd have like to see you win, just for Ian Miller really.

Wasn't The Fishy actually, it was an offshoot of the fishy that was set up some years ago as, at the time, the Fishy would only let you post about Grimsby and football. And it became extremely boring. So someone set up another board in which you could post anything, swear and insult anyone. But as I no longer really follow Grimsby it also got boring. So I came on here for the fashion and music advice.

Fair enough, I used to like the old rivals boards until they went bust, used to love goading the simian stranglers and bradford fans, just banter of course . I rarely post on uncovered anymore now I've found this board and the AV forums for my TV and home theatre.

I think football forums are very tricky once you get opposing fans on there as 99 times out of 100 it just degenerates into abuse. As I think most Celtic/Rangers threads do on here. They are bad enough with people supporting the same team.

The pacifist in me often despairs that supporting one team seems to automatically mean you must hate others. And you then get a situation where people seem to judge how much they support one team by how much they hate others. Which just seems daft to me. And in a way a bit sad really if your life has come down to that, trying to desperately show how much you hate a sporting team. But hey, what do I know.

You're right, don't get me wrong I'm not a hater, if I was going to hate any club (which I don't) it would be one that poaches support for my team, ie the big premiershit clubs and more specifically NUFC, SAFC and also MFC. I can't hate Hartlepool United, our traditional rivals because not one of our fans would ever switch allegience to them if they were doing well, it just wouldn't happen and they could never negatively affect our club. They're just a small club trying to survive, very much like Darlo were until we became a pub team. In fact 99% of posters on their forum were genuinely gutted when it looked like we would be liquidated and chucked money in the bucket. I do like to mock them though as is tradition and am very happy about their imminent relegation because I want the derby games back on asap.
