Foot position from Ben hogan

Just been having a read of my copy of Ben hogans modern fundamentals. In the summary section there is a diagram of ball placement or foot position for different clubs which has confused me a little.

His placement for driver is just of the left heel but his back foot is behind the target line and the same with the long irons. Isn't this a closed set up? The mid irons are on line and then the short irons and wedge are open.

I've always been taught to keep feet parallel to the target line apart from pitching.

How do you all set up your ball position in relation to the feet??

Thats how Hogan done it, his right foot went back more as the club got longer..............but the rest of his body, shoulders were square to the target line. This vid says it all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsl7aozegEM

I remember reading and seeing info about feet somewhere a long time ago where the angle of the feet to target went from open with short irons to closed with a driver. At some point in the past this was the recommended thing, I believe.
