Got back today from having seen the Foo Fighters in Milton Keynes yesterday. A truely superb gig and one of the best I have seen (and I have been to a few). Interesting support acts opening with Hot Rat, 2 of the members of Supergrass performing mainly covers. Did a great version of the Crystal Ship by the Doors and a very original version of Lovecats by the Cure. A good way to get the crowd going as everybody knew the songs. THey were followed by Jimmy Eat World, a band who I am not overly familar with but who I will be looking into in future. A superb set then came from Biffy Clyro to really get the crowd going. I really enjoyed it but again, I am not that knowledgeable and a few of their fans were suggesting that they played too much of the new stuff and not enough classics. Anyway, then out came the Foo Fighters, high energy entertainment from start to finish. They played everything from old to new interspersed with some great crowd interation from Dave Grohl. He really has become a great frontman and the Foo Fighters really are ready to take the step up to being one of the bigest bands in the world.

Speaking tonight to a few mates who went, everyone was raving about how good a gig it was, sort of disappointed I didnt go now, especially as we got stranded saturday night as getting a cab was a nightmare lol

Absolutely gutted I didn't get tickets for this. Jimmy, Biffy and Foo's...sounds like it was incredible.

In other news, just got back from Wembley after seeing take that

Not my cup of tea but my daughter and boyfriend went and thought it was fantastic.

you let your daughter out with your boyfriend ? :p

I didn't go, but then I didn't need to, could hear it all loud and clear from the back garden and in the house. Sounded bloody good.

I went too, it was an awesome gig, i would say the best i have been to! The bands were top notch and the venue was amazing, nice surprise Alice Cooper doing a couple of songs at the end too. It was a nightmare getting out of there though, they need to sort the logistics out lol. Took me 4 hours and a few miles walking to get back to the campsite (BIlling Aquadrome), wich was great too.

Fantastic weekend but im a bit bruised now :)

My daughter Lydia went too. Got home about 3.00am but had a great time.
She's off to see Take That sometime this week I think

She'll love Take That. They put on a very good show. Too many screaming girls for my liking though.

I forgot how much of a pain in the arse getting out of Wembley was though. Glad I parked up in Harrow.

I used City Camping at Willen Lake, superb. Really well organised and secure site, all facilities and all kept stocked and clean. Had to walk 20 minutes up the bus station but then loads of shuttle buses back to site. I was back at my tent in just over an hour.

Greg, if you want any Jimmy Eat World recommendations, let me know. They're a great band that you should definitely check out in depth if you enjoyed their set at the weekend.

Downloaded an album as soon as I got home. Will give that some play in the car and see what I think. Live they were excellent (not easy to hold the attention of 65000 people).

I too was fortunate to go on the Sunday and thought it was truly epic! All three main acts were brilliant and being a massive fan of Jimmy Eat World made the day even better. I've been a fan of theirs since my first year of uni (10 years ago already - eek) and I definately recommend seeing them live. The Foo's were obviously the highlight and Dave Grohl came across as a legend!!!

Cheers!
