My F.i.l has a few of the older MS ones, I had a crack at it but found it boring if you didnt fly the big planes like stukkas.

Finally got FSX working. The joystick driver was fecking things up.

I've played a bit of FSX. I only use a keyboard and mouse so it took me some time to master the landings.

Used to be really into Microsoft Flight Simulator, trying to fly a 747 with all the knobs and dials going. In the end too knackered from work to concentrate on it properly. Microsoft did withdraw from further developing the program some time ago but I understand they are working on a new version. Could be worth a look.

I think it's going to be a little more "arcady" than Flight Simulator to try to interest a different catagory of player. I enjoy FSX, but it's a bit long winded and the controls can be a bit daunting to a newbie.

I've recently rediscovered MS combat flight sim and battle for Europe. I know that as a flight sim they're not a patch on proper pc flight sims. But tbh I found them really boring. Thus shooting stuff is more fun.
