So basically I have a king cobra s9-1 10.5* with standard aldila DVS stiff flex shaft. I started to snap hook the club after hitting consistent draws so researched into why this was the case. I found that it was either my grip or the shaft flex. I hadn't changed my grip so went to find out the true stiffness of the shaft; I found out that I was equivalent to senior and that was why I was snap hooking the ball.

Soo, I want to know if it would be better to get a stiff or regular ( that actually are stiff or regular) in a king cobra s2

DVS is a decent shaft, but the version in your Cobra is a made for Cobra version, so is almost certainly softer. It shouldn't be two flexes too soft though, I would have thought it would be closer to midway between R and S.

Maybe you have lost a bit of smoothness and previously good tempo was minimising the effects of the soft flex, or you have picked up a bit of swing speed and pushed it over the edge.

The proper answer is to ignore what it says on the shaft and get properly fitted. You can't rely on the manufacturers stated flex, which varies enormously between shafts, and even varies, as you have seen, between manufacturer versions and the real shaft they are supposedly based on. The Titleist Voodoo suffer from the same problem, although probably not as much as yours.
