Occasional Tour Caddy
These takeaway prices seem higher than a bunch of the costs in the recent thread about cost of lunch/dinner in the clubhouse
Missis T once had fish and chips in Cleethorpes. It was the first time I have ever seen Albino peas. It was £6’s worth of rammel.
Only 2x F&C, 1x Macaroni Pie, and two kids suppers, canna mind fit they hid5 fish and chips for around £50 is pretty normal fir an ok place, a decent place expect nearer £60.
Most over rated town I ate in was Peterhead, very average, had better in Bridge of Allan
???Are you sure it wasn't the locals you were looking at? Bit odd over that way.

The one we went to didn’t have a BK. Our 9 year old was not happy as we were expecting one. It did have a Papa Johns though, which was decent - and good value.A few haven sites have done away with chippys and replaced them with burger kings. ?
£9.50 for a haddock supper in my local chipper. Two bits of fish because that’s the rules. Peas are extra. Balsamic vinegar and pink Himalayan salt because I’m posh.

If you're posh where's the cutlery?![]()
Batter looks a bit thin on there for me. But a hefty portion all the same. Not a criticism just personal taste£9.50 for a haddock supper in my local chipper. Two bits of fish because that’s the rules. Peas are extra. Balsamic vinegar and pink Himalayan salt because I’m posh.

We are going to be in Weymouth next week, and Fish and Chips at Marlboro's are on my to do list. Apparently, based on a friend from weymouth, that's the best place worldwide. Been there about 7 years ago and it was good then.
Otherwise we don't do fish and chips a lot. Our local used to have queues outside, now they only have them on national fish and chips day. They also took the word quality out of their name. I think there was an owner change.

Another Brexit lieDo you remember when fish and chips was served on greaseproof paper and wrapped in newspaper?
Then the EU banned it on health and safety grounds due to concerns over ink poisoning.

Tasted best in the Daily Mirror with the added bonus of reading something daft while eating.
Plus another use I won't mention.
Turns our it wasn't! Post 77 has the truth rather than a myth.Another Brexit lie
If they are not then you need to use them frequently over the coming months else they could well be closing given the possible cost of electricity. Though unfortunately our custom might not actually help as they may not be able to keep the fryers powered up and have to close anyway. Grim.So re the original question are fish and chip shops suddenly closing in your area?
They don’t seem to be around here yet anyway.
