Yesterday was the first day of school after the (yet another) break. Did my school run and it always amazes and amuses me the amount of effort mums put into their school run as compared to the dads. I generally walk the boy to school and I will just be in my jeans, any shirt and slipper/sandals. It takes me longer to put shoes on and get 'dressed up' than doing the round trip to school. Most dads also seem to similarly inclined. Mums on the other hand seem to get dressed up, trainers et al - almost seem to be on the way to the gym rather than the school (even though I think most of them just go back home rather than to the gym). This gets to a different level on the first day after a break as they seem to put a lot of effort into it. They also spend a lot of time talking to each other rather than the man's in-and-out of school approach.

Mars and Venus indeed..

I'm used to very council estate schools (make of that what you wish) and now live in a quiet village. It still amazes me when I see all the mums jump out of their 4x4's in identical clobber do drop their kids 500yards down the road!

And the MILFs from the GILFs....

I do LOL at some of the mums, make up and dressed like they are off out on the town!

We have a posh school just over the road from the hospital. Some of the ladies dropping their kids off in the top of the range soft tops must have been getting ready for days. Mutton dressed as mutton too some of them

Ours went to school nearly 3 miles away so had to drive as it's all back lanes and they can be quite dangerous. Still the mums arrive at school 20 minutes before they can drop the kids off and at least half an hour before the school kicks out. When I dropped the kids off I was in, opened the car door and let them loose on the school for the day.
After taking the kids there for, what felt like, ever I worked it out that just on the school runs without the extra trips for sickness, plays, rehearsals, sports day etc etc we clocked up over 24 THOUSAND miles!
