What was the first proper golf course you played and who did you play it with ?

No pitch / putts or crazy golf with grandparents when you was two :p

Can’t remember what year but I think it must have been around 85 and it was at Cruden Bay when my dad was working at RAF Buchan - just remember getting a par on a par three , played with my dads mate and his daughter who I believe went on to become a pro

For me it was Hylands in Chelmsford, essex with a couple of friends who got me into golf

Reading.

Course lesson with the pro and my dad. We shared a set of Eric Brown irons, and I had a Slazenger four wood, and my dad the three wood. Can still remember the thrill of hitting one near enough out of the screws. 1973 but it seems like yesterday.

Whinhill Golf Course, above Greenock in the early 90s.
My Dad took me and my brother up. My Dad wasn't a golfer and borrowed a set of clubs simply to let me and my bro have a go.
I kinda remember him cutting this old driver off the 1st tee and it probably bouncing 150 yards or so down and thinking he had hit it a mile.
We obviously couldn't play and we probably had to let guys through every other hole.

Whinhill is a formidable moorland course with a burn on just about every hole.
That said, I'd like to go back now that I've been a regular player for a few years. .

Haste Hill, a compact little muni in NW London.

I shot 105 and my mate shot 102. In hindsight not bad for first round. The course seemed huge, especially the bunkers.

Solbacka Golfklubb with a few mates, about an hour south of Stockholm. Sometime around 2004.

In the UK?

Trent Park Golf Club in London. May 2016, after a 5 year break.
