First ever club championships and I was really looking forward to it. Yesterday's qualifier was cancelled, leaving one round to qualify.

Got up to the course and it was wet and windy but I felt confident. Hit 5wood off the first tee, as always, expecting the usual draw but hit it high and right into the trees. Got to the ball and ut was right behind a tree, so came out sideways. Poor 3rd left me off the putting surface still, so chipped on and 2 putts for an opening 6. Whoops :o

Things didn't get much better, with three more 6s on the way out. I could barely hit the ball and, when I git to the 10th tee, found that I'd gone out in 45. I played worse than that, so was lucky it was as low as that, but I. was still +10.
Back 9, completely different. Found my swing again and came back in 37 for 82, which is good enough to getget me into the matchplay :)

Never played competitive matchplay before, so looking forward to it, whatever happens. Roll on Tuesday!

I've done a club matchplay championship which I got knocked out in the semi (poor course managment).
2 rounds for the club masters (I know it's a tad cheesy but hey ho) which is stroke play.
Hoping my course managment is better and I can keep any nerves under control.
