What a week, and its only Monday!!

76 in a 70, "sorry sir but..."

Parking fine; my fault, I misread the sign. But two tickets for the same offence...?!

I'm not going out anymore today - best check to make sure the TV licence is up to date!

Seems a bit harsh for a ticket knowing what some in my office have got speed awareness courses for………

The guidelines from the Chief Constables association (can't remember its proper name) is to issue a fine (or speed awareness course) if you caught doing 10% +2 mph over the limit, so 79mph in your case. It's just a guideline, so it looks like some jobsworth decided to pick on you.

Could be wrong but I don't think the speed awareness course is an option up here.

And as it's my second ticket in 3 months it's only fair that I don't get any leniency

Ouch. I'm currently sweating on one dropping through the letterbox. It happened two weeks ago today so if I've heard nothing by Wednesday i should be ok. Just got my licence back to clean as well:rolleyes:

The ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) Guidelines were was that you didn't prosecute if the speed was less than 10% + 2mph below the limit, in practice there used to be more latitude than that. As you say, only guidelines but it would be fairer if the laws were applied evenly across the island.
