i hate playing from the rough etc and now the fairways are open its amazing

1895. The fairways closed during both world wars fora landing strip. No need to close them just for a British winter though!

It is a commonplace action at some clubs to preserve the ground. Its either place in the rough or use artificial grass mats.

I have never lived far enough north or been at an expensive enough club to be exposed to this

we use a diff layout over winter. we start on the 10th. just grew to like the winter layout. feels like a new course! bak to normal frm monday!
