Money List Winner
Well, last Sunday I had a 'moment of clarity' and hopefully smoked my last cigarette. With finances as they are, if I want to get out and do more things or go on more golf away days then I need to save some money somewhere. Everything else has been cut back then it dawned on me (yes I know it is blatently obvious) but there was easily £30-£40 a week I can save if I quit smoking. So, for that most practical of reasons, I stabbed out the last ciggie in my packet and have not had one since. Spending a fortune on sugar free gum at the moment but so far so good. I am booked into the stop smoking clinic at the local doctors next week and they will prescribe me pills if I want or Nicorette and such like.
Anyway, for the first time I am quitting on my terms and not because somebody else (normally my wife) has nagged me into it. Hopefully this will be the end of this particular vice.
