Quitting smoking - Amarilla golf Tenerife

Ironic timing, just back from town with my latest batch of ecigs and happily puffing on one now, plan is to quit completely (ecigs) in 3 month as before I have laster a few month then gone back on the cigs. Just stocked up with about 5 weeks worth of refils. Works out cheaper than 1 week on the smokes aswell!

Good Luck, incentives like new golf gear or trips away are a great idea but most of all the want to quit attitude has to remain paramount.

having watched the speed of play on Amarilla I would have thought it likely to drive you back to cigs very quickly!

anyhow, wish you luck in your quests

just in and puffing away on the new pipe, nice.

the test will be this afternoon when I three putt bogey from 6 feet for the 3rd hole in a row if I can manage that without a smoke this should be a breeze ;)

why not try vaping or electric cigs? i was the worst quitter in the world, in 20 years i had tried:

Allan carr book (plus the second one for stubborn quitters)
Allan car sessions (x3 then got my money back as it failed!)
Gum
Inhalers
patches

champix (made me really grumpy and ill)
cold turkey

The only thing that worked "for ME" was electric cigs, been on them now for 9 months and would not dream of having a normal cig now. OK I am still addicted to nicotene, however i am getting it without all the nasty stuff!

Good luck guys, people that have never smoked will not understand how hard it really is to make the leap into stopping smoking.

How much does this cost you?

I only smoke 3 a day (more at weekends) but would love to get that to non....

I quit 4 months ago and used the nicorette quickmist spray and genuinely do not want a cigarette now, my motivation was the birth of my little girl but it was very hard to do.
I kept planning to do either on Monday, after this packet, after this last one etc and it never seemed to happen, one day I ran out and was walking to shop to buy some and just thought I am gonna quit here and now, turned around and went home and not had one since and glad I did it.
I found I smoked most at a particular work place and on the golf course so as i work multi venues I avoided one place as much as possible and the course was closed mostly in December so worked out well. I play with 3 other smokers and they are always chugging away and really doesn't bother me at all now.
Find your motivation and just get on with it - you can do it

Good luck to all people trying to quit. I was a quitting champion. Every Monday. Went to a hypnotist oct 27th 2011. Best £50 I ever spent. One visit and sorted for life.
Me too , I went over 22years ago and not had a fag since, But I still found it hard when out having a drink.Best of luck, do it!!!!.

the list of side effects from champix is long and a little scary but they work for me, the first time it was horrible and I was falling asleep at work and snapping at everyone, I took a couple of days break tried again and they are fine now. I quit 'again' two weeks ago with them, still taking them and a few goes on an ecig per day just when my hands get a bit restless.

not to put a downer on the OP and if it works then great but external rewards like that don't generally work, the extra money saved is a bonus and of course treat yourself with it but the first and most important reason/motivation has to come from yourself.

Good luck

Alex, my battery and chamber, charger etc prob about £20 (one off cost) the liquid i buy is £7 for 30ml, that lasts at least a fortnight. Only other thing is a new wick every month at about £3. Better than 20/30 cigs a day!!!!

Hay Hack-Man-Hob, how has it been going ?

I had my last packet like I said on my last night shift on Sunday night. Finished them off on Monday and had the last one at 16:30.

I've not had a single one since. :-)

I havn't managed to "stop" for more that 24 hours in the past 20 years !!!!

I make that 5 and a half days so far so I guess thats about £40 saved so far. Thats a box of ProV's so far !!!

Hope your doing well.....

hey Hendo well done pal!!!

Same here week today and going ok, got through the night shift ok, a few wobbly moments but got through it fine, vape stick is the key at the moment. Not a single drag all week.

Even had a couple of 3 putt bogeys and made it through without being tempted ;)

Keep it up mate, I've saved a good 50/60 quid this week, reward for my efforts a little trip to The Warwickshire thurs morn before work.

You guys are an inspiration.

I'm teeing off in 3/4 of an hour... my e-cig is fully charged and filled up. (and my spare)..

(better win with 3 or 4 holes to go, otherwise it'll be very dark.....)

Still on the wagon folks?

2 weeks and getting tough now, play with my good lady's father about 6 times a year for a trophy, always play on a nice course. He doesn't smoke but we always have a couple of cigars through the round to add to the occasion. Last Thursday was the day and was the closest I've come to breaking.

two victories in one day then :)

Good going mate,

Two week anniversary today aswell and still not had a single puff from a real fag.

My next target after today is to make to the 15th May, thats my next pay date and then to check the back account and see if there is more than about the usual £50 quid left :-)

Glad ur keeping it going too and well done.

Update;

7 weeks and going well, buckled once a fortnight ago pipe died at the tail end of a truly horrific night shift demanded a roll up from someone. Instantly regretted it. If anything it reminded me how crap it tasted. 1 in 7 weeks is good as Hack-Lady-Hob says alot better than 980, Pipe nicotene content is down too so all good steps. Can almost smell the sea air and the freshly cut fairway from the 1st tee.

Keep it up, won't be long till you're complaining about other smelly smokers.
