I've been playing on an off for the best part of 13 years and haven't improved much. I joined a club two years ago and was given a handicap of 24 and I hadn't even broken 100. I've always used a driver and had great rounds but mostly poor ones and rarely breaking a 100. I can hit my clubs well and hit a driver out of the middle of the face but have struggled for years by hitting it way left or way right. I decided to treat myself to a new driver and had a fitting a few weeks back. My swing speed is 105mph and I tried lots of clubs and various shafts. I now have a Titleist 910 d2 with a stiff project x shaft. The dispersion is now limited to within the fairway and the last two rounds have been 2 under my handicap which is a first. I never ever thought that using a regular shaft in a second hand Ping g10 would have caused me all these problems.Just goes to show how much a fitting can help. Time to work on my short game now :-)

Well done on your improvement, however it is purely down to hitting fairways.
Thats not rocket science.
The key i feel is the c/f driver.
Im sure there are lots on here who could improve with a costum fit driver,i know i would,as i never use
one normally.
I can also see another two shots coming off your handicap.
The short game is the key, chipping and putting practice could easily be 2 shots.

Well done. Keep it going although don't worry if you suddenly feel you can't hit a barn door and you're goign backwards. Thats just golf One step back for every two forward is still progress so keep doing what you're doing and enjoy the big do working
