Finally Got Out

Well just seen our weather forecast there and there telling us that our cold snap is going to last till at least the 6th or 8th of january and to be honest i dont really ,ind too much the winter months being like this if our summer falls the way its supposed to.........Not likely though...... :(

If you are getting it buy the little bits that add on to the ends of the controllers as they allow you to roll the club head over and back to produce the draw and fade shots....Its very realistic.... :D ;)

motion plus? got it included in the pack.

Even better you'll have some craic with it....The young lad wont get near it once you get hooked :D :D

All snow/ice gone from here - don't know if the course is open as I can't get there till next friday anyway. Might get a range session this week or early next and I'll find out about the course then. Should be all back to normal by then.

Personally I'm not that bothered about playing until the course is fit properly again. I did the frozen course stuff in my younger days and pretended to enjoy watching the ball scoot off at right angles on the frozen greens and fairways. I know that courses are under pressure to open to give members value for money but they don't do any favours to themselves. If I were on a greens committee I'd be pushing to keep the course closed until we have a proper thaw.

Agree 100%
I tried a couple of games last winter where this was happening and found it a total and utter waste of time.
I suppose I got a bit of exercise and fresh air but I can get that walking around Tescos with the Missus or Comet/PC World/Currys with my credit card....
;) ;) ;)

I agree, last year I had to get 3 cards in playing in frozen condictions and it really knocked my confidence for most of the season.

I guess its ok for keeping the swing going and an excuse for a few pints afterwards!

Homer I know what you mean about range to course. I think I conveniently forget about every bad shot I hit and only remember the pured ones.

RGDave Tiger 2010 on the wii is utterly brilliant. Saved me during the snowy spell!

Course still closed, I am back at work now too. In theory playing twice next weekend. Hmm, not sure I want to.

Been down the range practicing my shank. Getting pretty good at it now. Height and distance.

Managed to play 16 holes at Heyrose yesterday. Ice-covered greens and paths, target greens, enough fog so that you didn't know where the ball was going - fresh air and exercise and better than staying in doors. The pro only charged us a fiver each, and we promised to go back again when the weather improves. To the forumer who is a member (I forget who): it looks to have some nice holes, especially the narrow 228 yard par 3 through a valley with OOB on the left and trees and a stream on the right. We will be back.

Jealous and think might have to go down the Wii route as well if I can get my wife & daughter off it as very doubtful I will be playing on 31ST given the weather warnings for the Midlands

I played for my 3rd (and best card) two years ago. As the ground wasn't frozen, but we played off winter mats, I played far better than had it been off whites. I'm still regretting it two years later.

t.b.h. after yesterdays experience, I'd say frozen ground is not good conditions for playing for a h'cap card. I hit 8 greens yesterday (GIR) and only stayed on one!! :)

Well myself and my ol man are booked in for 10a.m. in the morning.
May just maybe ill get round without the brolly.

Tonight....
Further spells of rain, sleet or snow early tonight, with heavy rainfall in the south perhaps leading to localised flooding. However, drier conditions soon developing in the north will extend to all areas by morning. East to northeast winds will remain strong and gusty for much of the night, especially in the south. Lowest temperatures -1 to +2 degrees Celsius, with some frost and ice possible in sheltered parts of the north later.

Tomorrow

Thursday, New Year's Eve, will be dry and sunny across many areas. However, coastal counties of the northwest, north and east will have occasional wintry showers, some falling as snow. Winds backing northeast to north will decrease moderate to fresh and it will remain very cold; highest temperatures just 1 to 5 degrees Celsius

Its a good job i live over in the west.... :) :)
