Films

We watched Ticket to Paradise last night - Clooney and Roberts doing a buddies-in-Bali rom-com Hmmm. A bit of rom not a great deal com. And watching it I couldn’t help but think I didn’t see or recognise any of Bali, indeed the locations confused me as they weren’t consistent with the Bali I know (limited though that is) and looked more like somewhere like…oh I dunno…Queensland. And that‘s cos they were 🙄. That said I suppose it was quite short, gently amusing, and it was nice to look at - as Queensland is.

One thing that really bugged us though was the sound.

We really struggled to hear some of the dialogue, often being muffled, quiet and unintelligible. I was thinking it might be our soundbar not being up to the job for our new much larger living space, but reading some reviews on IMDB it seems it was the film and not us.

MI7 Pretty much as you would expect. But as usual it delivers on the action and entertainment

It Is In Us All. Probably up there in my top 5 of utter poop I've sat through. Not even sure why I stuck with it - couldn't be bothered to find something else I suppose.

Awful.

Another vote for Oppenheimer. Really good.

Before I went, was worried on 2 counts - a) it's quite long, and b) that Cillian Murphy wouldn't carry it off. Needn't have worried on either score. Really interesting throughout, and he nailed it.

And by the by, even though it was a Monday afternoon (midweek, mid-afternoon being our preferred time), its the first time in years that I've actually seen the cinema busy ...

Just done the same. Very odd film. I guess it might have been trying to be arty, but I do feel that some of the scenes were extreme for the sake of being extreme. And I'm not a prude by any means.
Saw the adverts for it Premiering on Sky Movies and it looked really good, enticing you to watch but I felt there was just no story to it at all.

John Wick 4. Pretty much the same as the others. Good brain out fun, but at least half an hour too long!
