Looking for some recommendations. I am not a horror film fan but my wife loves them (creepy ones more than out and out gore). I always agree to watch one horror film on Halloween so, any recommendations amongst the more recent stuff, I have seen most of the old classics.

Just completed two 18 hour flights each way to Japan and back. Watched a fair few films to while away the time, some old some new. In no particular order….

American Hustle - realized shortly in that I’d see. It before but enjoyed it non the less.

Renfield - Nic Cage and Nicholas Holt, a horror comedy about Draculas lackey. Thoroughly enjoyed it, made me laugh aloud in parts.

The Flash - wasn’t really interested to watch but curious because of reviews. Despite the really annoying younger version of the Flash, I did enjoy it. Michael Keaton steals the film I think, although he almost loses out to one of the Superman cameos….. 😳

The Three Musketeers, D’Artagnan - I’ve always been partial to the Musketeers and will happily watch the Ollie Reed version any time. This is a new French version, and was excellent, really enjoyed it and look forward to the sequel(s).

Rolling to You - a French comedy about a serial misogynist pretending to be in a wheelchair to get a girl. It goes pear shaped when he meets her wheelchair bound sister. I thought it was very funny and it made me laugh aloud quite a lot.

Champions - a Farrelly brother movie about a basketball coach (Woody Harrelson) having to coach a special needs team as part of his community service. Not as outrageous as some of their other films, but enjoyable and more of a feel good film.

Amelie - an old French classic. Audrey Tatou is just gorgeous, lovely film.

No Hard Feelings - a new comedy with Jennifer Lawrence. Currently on Netflix and gaining traction because of a certain beach scene…. Wasn’t the funniest comedy but enjoyed it.

Sure I saw more but can’t remember right now.

Old Dads, some funny moments but seemed a bit like trying to make a film around a 20 minute stand up routine and I am not sure any of the characters had any likable qualities to get across the message from either side of the debate.

The Last Rifleman 2023, is a lovely film with Pierce Brosman as a 92/3-year-old D-Day veteran attempting to return to France .
Similar to Michael Cane's recent film.

Amsterdam on Disney. Good cast, good premise based largely on a true story, but it was flat. I kept waiting for it to step up but it didn't happen. Don't bother.

The Marvel's

Not awful not great

6.5 /10

Mindless escapism

More movies could learn from this with the run time.. keep it short!

Story flowed. Didn't get bored

Entertainment

I mean what else do you want in a movie really
