Just wondering does anyone film themselves at the driving range? If so how do I do it?

my pro suggested going Halfords and getting a mobile cradle that you normally use in the car and then sticking it to a mirrored bay. Great idea. However not all bays have mirrors

anyone got any cheap solutions?

The driving range i use has a wooden shelf at the back, so i just rest my phone against it and use it. fairly simple really.

Just seen a video of how to use a selfie stick , extend to the max and put in your bag. Sorted got one floating about freebie!

I have a son. This is however very expensive as I believe the costs of raising children go into 6 figures over their lifetime. A tripod is probably cheaper, I should have thought of that.

Joking apart, get a mate to do it. I film my sons swing, he does mine. We both benefit. You don't need to film 100 balls to see a fault. Doing it manually means you can also change angles very easily. Well worth doing though. Filming your swing and playing back in slow motion shows your faults up clearly. It also shows you doing things you are convinced you do not know. A great way of improving practice.

I use my phone and a really cheap little tripod. We have an outdoor range, so just mats, no bays, which allows me to put the camera far enough back (I only have to have an eye on it so that nobody walks over it by accident, but since I always feel a bit sheepish about filming myself, I normally only do it when no one else is around anyway). It's not ideal, because it is better to have the camera about waist high, but it works for me. You could also get a small monkey pod (they cost about 20 quid) and attach it to your bag. That should put it to about the right height.

If you're going to film your swing, try and get the camera at least head height

Cheers for the tip will do!

cant get mates to film all my golf mates live north London or up the a1, I live Essex

love the selfie stick idea.. I bought one years ago to help me read the gas meter that was tucked round a corner lol seems a cost neutral idea

Joby Gorillapod as my tripod (either for smartphone or for DSLR) as you can attach it to anything.

Then either my gopro or iphone to record.

I do it all the time

Same here. Usually attach to my bag.

I've also got something like this which clamps to my bag, https://www.amazon.co.uk/MyArmor-Ad...1&sr=8-1&keywords=iphone+clamp+with+extension

Helps get the phone higher to get a better view as Bob suggest. And as it's on the bag you can shift it around to get different views.

If your range is anything like Parklands, then there are usually dozens of empty baskets left, a couple of baskets turned upside down and three stacked to make a small pyramid perfect for resting you phone on

Just a small tripod attached to my bag for me, then move the bag to suit. I used to have a cam caddy with attaches to an alignment stick which was great but it broke and haven't got round to buying a new one.

Everyone has their own way of recording the swing and yet, I see no videos posted on here. :D Get them uploaded, we won't judge too much

When I've tried videoing at the range all I get is a silhouette due to tha bay being darker than the outside. How do you all get around that problem?
