Favourite Pubs & Restuarants

This is a great place.. The Coledale Inn, Braithwaite..a couple of miles outside Keswick.
Views out to Skiddaw from the beer Garden with a pint of Yates bitter, Cosy bar with roaring open fires, very good food, dog friendly and very reasonably priced.
We go every year, love the place!
Its also handy for a game at Silloth.

Just an idea after reading the Cotswolds thread..
Tell us about your favourite Pubs and Restuarants, I'm always on the lookout for new places to try..

I'll kick off with this place. The Masons Arms in the South Lakes.
Cracking Rustic Pub with Great Food and Some of best Views around. Love the place and always make the effort to call in if close by.

Its about a 10 minute Drive from Newby Bridge in a quiet corner of the Lakes.

Love the Masons, another great Individual Inns pub is Tempest Arms, Elslack. Food is fantastic and the rooms are nice too.

The ones we've tried so far have been superb. Spread Eagle at Sawley, Wheatsheaf at Brigsteer and the Masons. They seem to do things very well all round.

We'll have to get over to Yorkshire to try the Others, The Tempest arms does look like its worth the trip.

Yes Spread Eagle is great too. The Tempest could coincide with a knock at Skipton GC ;)

The best or used to be the best by miles is The Fountine Inn in Linton. Beautiful place, fantastic food and such an idylic setting. Been recently and the food wasn't as good as a couple of years ago but still better than a lot of places.

The Duke in Ascot is a quality pub. Tucked away down a narrow road on the road from the racecourse towards Windsor it's a proper traditional pub with some quality Arkells beers. However, it's the food that's the real triumph and an extensive menu accompanies generous portions.
