Fancy a laugh?

Questions, questions....

1) Can you move to the right and it still be considered S&T?

2) What, in your opinion/experience is Stack and Tilt?

3) Can any swing be considered S&T? Or have elements if such?

4) Is Homers swing S&T as an example?

1) Yes. Charlie Wi moves into his right side, he's the poster boy for the swing so go figure.
with a driver... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMB8x5pfI4o
with and iron... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsYeSPRxwyo

see him shift into his right side applying pressure to the right foot?

2) S&T is a series of elements that deliver the club with the most power/accuracy/consistency combined. You can get more powerful swings (taking a run up for example) but they'll lack accuracy and consistency. If you play all the elements as prescribed then you should be playing a soft push-draw and you would be considered (by most) to be 100% S&T, but you don't have to play all the elements.

3) S&T swings are seen by most to be the ones that follow all the elements as prescribed. Someone 'could' be S&T but for example keep more flex in their left knee, this would cause the turn to be restricted and the hands not to get deep enough... they could then likely play a pull-fade (not the prescribed shot shape). It would be argued whether that were S&T or not by most.

4) Homers swing isn't S&T, it's a squid on fire! If he's learning the plane truth then he is learning elements of S&T. Whether or not he can reproduce what he is being taught is a totally different matter.

Nice to see a swing vid of yours there Gareth... looks good, a bit mechanical (and a bit 'Stricker') but that shot looked solid as if it was going nowhere else but on the green. If only everyone could post decent quality vids like that!

Looking at the Vid Gareth what do you think of your swing?

Being honest Brian, it looks different than it feels.

With playing off my left side since I took up the game in 2010 it "feels" like I move massively off the ball in the backswing, but looking at the video I hardly seem to move

I do lose a bit of height in the back swing, which I kind of feel, but looks more severe than it feels if that makes sense

Overall, for the first time using my right side, pretty pleased.

Why do you ask?

I was just interested on how you felt about the changes and what you thought about the results.

I dont think you will notice a great deal of movement in the back swing as you are pivoting around your right hip, it should keep you fairly centered anyway.

Just a few small things IMO to look at. You are very flat footed at impact, I think you need just a bit more pivot around the front leg during the downswing. You get high with your arms in the follow through which indicates you coming out of plane, it may be linked with the static feet though. It may help if you tried to get your arms and the club into more of a position in the follow through that mirrored your backswing.

Pleased the results were good.

As I said Brian, it's pretty much my fist time bringing my right side into the swing.

This is why I want to see a pro from the outset to get it right from the beginning and build a solid base to work from.

Thanks for your observations
