Here's one of my first attempts at getting more onto my right hand side.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au6A8QUgrsQ

This was a 75 yard pitch with a 58* Wedge.

All joking aside It went really, really well. First time this year on full greens (apart from the 8th which has been ripped up completely). I hit the ball really well.

Only did 9 holes as we have a hectic day planned. Finished +4 for the 9 so very, very happy.

All in all a good start to bringing my right side into play. Roll on 5/3 for my first lesson.

curious , what are you trying to get more on the right hand side ?

should your weight not be more forward on you left hand side for that shot ?

Question not critisism mate

No problem Bill.

I'm moving away from the Stack & Tilt method toward a more traditional one.

Instead of keeping my weight left through the whole swing, I'm working towards a more traditional move to the right then back to the ball.

There was no reason for the shot other than to try and gauge a feeling for getting onto my right side.

Seemed nice hit tho , only reason i ask is ive just started lessons & as you will know from my previous posts i realy dont know much about the technical side of the game , the guy im working with has me using hands & weight forward on my left with my wedges ..
weight on back leg with nthe others ...
Am i being thought S&T ?? if my swing approves & i get better i dont mind what its called ha

Being honest, since I took up the game properly in 2010 I've always played off my left side, for everything, even the driver

I just feel that my bad shots came from being so left sided. I think lessons will help for sure.

Doubtful. I reckon most pros will advocate favouring the front foot for short clubs.

I am jealous that you have got to 7 handicap with little knowledge of the technical side. I like this approach. For future reference, S&T is defined as:

Weight Forward
Shoulder Down
Hands In
Arms Straight
Tuck Hips

Good to hear you are ditching Stack and Tilt Gareth. Have you told James yet.

Thank you for that mate ,

Im being thought to stand taller at the ball and my flat swing is being changed to a more flowing one , like skimming a stone motion through the ball .

i supose its good to get low without help , but i reckon you have to get good basics to get realy good , gona be an interesting year .. even after 3 lessons im enjoying the learning even tho its hard work putting it into practice ..

roll on the qualifiers

Good luck with the change Gareth , nice looking swing .. better than mine anyhow ha

Again, this is just a question mate;

Why do you think your swing faults come from weight bias to the left?

One of my major problems is getting steep on shots. If my weight is starting left, and progressively moving more left, I think it could be adding to this problem.

I've used the S&T pattern for the last 18 or so months, I have no problem with the pattern at all, it's an effective method for sure. I feel, for me, the better option long term is something more traditional.

I've been looking at your other vids mate and I think your swing looks good, nice and easy on the 6 iron vid. To me, doesn't look like all your planned swing changes would be necessary. I would be more than happy if I swung it like that...

Very kind of you Bill on both counts

I said on a thread the other day I'm not looking for a quick fix. I want to get to your level Bill but I know it won't happen over night and won't happpen anytime soon.

I want to put the time in on the range and practice ground. I want to learn but mostly I want to enjoy the journey :D

Looks great - more S&T than me!

Here's a little something for you.......

Thanks for that link James. That was very informative.

Can I ask?

What, in your opinion/experience is Stack and Tilt?

Can you move to the right and it still be considered S&T?
