With my Driver that is......
After staggering to 30 points yesterday in the Monthly Comp and a timely cancellation of a lesson, I found I had time to go out agian today to try to find my game that had got lost somewhere on the front 9....
I think I may have found it.

After reading that TheCraw had his 910 cranked up to 11 degrees and the 2 wood loaned from GM sort of working, I decided to go to 11 degrees too. I also closed the face to it's most closed setting giving me a driver with 11 degrees loft with a 1 degree closed face.
Everything began to go long and straight. I missed only fairways and they were both with irons in a cross wind and then only by a foot or 3.
The good drives gave me a chance to give some new bats I'd aquired a good workout too. Hit 11 greens. Made 5 birdies.

Shot a gross 66. 49 stableford points. A PB on so many levels.

My only bogey came at the 11th when I pushed a 7iron approach into some really lush rough which I could only blast out of and 2 putt.

The new irons were fabulous. Straight (mostly) and distances not too different to my old MP58's - but anything not quite out of the middle still made good progress.

Life has a big smile on it's face at the moment. What's the betting I blow up big time against Fragger tomorrow.

And the new bats...??

Callaway Razr X Tour. I love them already. :D :D :D

OMFG you sold your irons???????? Whats the story?

Funny enough Me Steve and Neal + Neals good woman played in a comp together last Saturday. It was a total fun thing so we were pratting about on the practice ground and Neals Mrs said to have a go on her driver. Big headed Ping in pink with a HUGE offset and as light as can be. My guess is that is was a ladys version of the G3 or around that age. It is 14* and I spanked it as far as my driver with a big ass draw on it, might be the 1st time I ever hit a draw with a driver.

I quickly put it back in her bad as the group giggled at me... I dont need to be called pinky or anything thanks!! :D

I use a 9.5 as I hit the ball high but it may be that its hampering me?! I am missing my Callaway FT-iQ if I am honest.

Sixty fecking six!!!!! What in the name of small badgers dressed in drag are you and Fragger eating/drinking/smoking? Whatever it is I want some. SIXTY SIX!!!!!! I'm off to lie down and absorb that piece of information, that's phenomenal!!! Well played. Looks like you and Fragger are officially the Bandit Brothers!

I think they must put something in the water in Aylesbury on Thursdays

Good shooting Bro, and a long way from Wednesday when you were slamming your wedges into the ground in frustration (Oh How I Laughed)

49 points is obscene

Im gonna wup your fat ass tomorrow "Low-Boy"

Fragger :D

The big problem is that the only way is down from here. Even taking all the positives and confidence from today, it will be a miracle if I match it tomorrow.
Here's hoping though...

Great shooting Ian, glad to hear it all come together, some of these mizzie boys do a lot better with Cally irons imho ;)

Ping Rapture ladies - both Al and Neil far better with it than their "manly" drivers lol

So two days ago you get me all excited that you might be selling your D3 and then you learn how to hit the damn thing  ;)

Seriously that's some phenonenal shooting mate, well played.

Yep I probably should apologies Ian, you shot the round of a life time and I talked about clubs. You always struck me as someone who could shoot that so it was no shock.... that's my story and I am sticking to it! :D Great work mate, you will do it again I am sure, maybe not tomorrow but one day...

Did I miss a post about your new iron thought? did you get fit? what else did you hit? and so on and so on!! PLEASE!!
