I bought myself a pair of £100 shoes at start of this season, (might not be expensive to you)Anyway, I had to have them replaced after 1 month because of cracking, so got same shoe again, thinking they will be ok. Right, I've had them 4 months now, I had told one of our pros about my feet being wet over the last month or so, he told me to return them. Which I did. Last Saturday was the last straw. My feet were soaked by the time I got to the 2nd tee. It wasn't raining, it was just the due on the grass. My playing partners feet were dry. I emailed the company, to which they replyed to me saying I should return them to the shop and the shop would return them. Ok so their getting returned on Monday to the company. The company will run tests on them to see whats wrong with them. £100 wont break the bank, but surley they should last longer than a few months. I have an older pair, (same make) which I used this morning, grass wet after yesterdays rain. My feet dry and lovely and warm. These old shoes were half the price, and are a year and a half old (ready for the bin)
It will beinteresting to see what the company say or do. I have told them I'm not happy and would expect more from their shoes.
Just because the price tag is higher, are you really getting a good deal? I didn't!!!!
Whats your thoughts on this?

you should just get them returned to where you bought them your contract is with the retailer not the manufacture let them do the monkey work depending on the company lets say footjoy they will issue your pro with a credit or send another pair if he doesn't have what you want in stock, won't do any tests you need to appreciate these people a churning out hundreds of thousands of these shoes world wide there will always be some flawed shoes that slip through the net same with most mass produced products ( bags clothing gloves) a pain in the arse for you but shouldn't let you be put off depends on the brand I only worked with FJ we never stocked anybody else.

I had a pair of nike for 4 months, expensive ones too, took them to our pro, even though bought else where, he contacted nike and the arranged to replace them, so have new shoes for next year now, I had bought replacement pair so 2 good pairs now, happy days!
But I agree totally, shoes should last more than a few months!

I wont name the shoes until I see what the company says/does for me. I didnt take them back to where I got them from because the guy would only make excusses for them. He has them now, but couldn't really say anything once I showed him the email from the compamy.

Champ, i had exactly the same problem with my FJ sports i'd only had them 4 months and although the lad at clubhousegolf swapped them with no problem, i didn't expect them to be so poorly made.

a friend of mine had the same problem with FJ, in the end he bought some adidas and said they are so much better.

I only buy cheap and cheerful. Never had a problem with any shoes (FJ/Stylo/Hi-tec/Nike). I never buy expensive normal shoes either....the only £100 pair I bought lasted under a week in the rain of London town. I had to get really full-on in the shop to get them replaced.
They offered, eventually, to replace the soles as a goodwill gesture. I said they could replace or repair....the expression "goodwill gesture" doesn't apply to a product that fails to meet even the most basic purpose of the product.

I have a pair of Adidas Tour 360 Ltds, which are superb, but hardly 'Waterproof'. Water Resistant perhaps, but thats it.

I also have 2 pairs of FJ Classic Premiers, which are about as waterproof as a pair of slippers, despite costing over £100/pair.

However, they are simply fantastic to wear, so I dont care, and as I dont generally play in the rain, or a lot in he winter, it doesnt matter.

Want Waterproof - But cheap & plastic ?

A couple of years ago, Ecco had problems with their soles splitting where they flex. This appears to be resolved now. I returned a pair no problems. I still wear Ecco shoes as they are best I've ever had in 40 year sof playing golf.

HTL bought some FJ Sports from the Ascott pro and they split within a few rounds so he got another pair and they did the same. In the end I think he went for Adidas. I have never had a problem with my FJ's and the Icons in particular are excellent at keeping your feet dry and are so comfy. I've had a pair of dryjoys and they only just gave up the ghost at the start of this year and are 10 years old. Still ideal for the range.

I concur, I had the Ultra Performances and the sole cracked but I couldnt wait for the 2010 to be released to go something else. They where very good and far better than FJ's which my SYNR-G's cleats where welded into them so ruined them trying to get the cleats out and the leather cracked or split easy.

Got Adidas 360 now and they are comfy but like sponges as I found out today, that said only one foot was squelching :D

Update

I received a credit note from the company in question and got a new pair from my pro. I went for the same brand only different model. It took just over a week for them to replace so I dont suppose things are to bad. Hopefully this pair will keep my feet DRY.

It was a result then CC. Well done.

I had a problem with my FJ DryJoys so took them back and they said they would have to send them off to FJ but I asked if I could just take another pair and trade up to the Sports model and they agreed.
