Expensive putter or exclusive course?

If you were given £300 to spend on a putter or a day's golf which would it be?

I have to agree with the 'neither' comment. A £300 putter would do nothing more than my £100.00 one so nothing to gain there and even if someone else had paid I would have a problem enjoying a £300 game of golf. I know that it would rattle around my head that the round had cost a ridiculous amount of money and I suspect that it would ruin my enjoyment. Plus my game is not going to light up such an illustrious venue. Would rather the £300 was spent on a 4 ball on a more reasonably priced course with 3 people whose company I enjoyed or even £100 on golf and £200 on good food and wine afterwards plus a cab home.

I only made my comment because Snelly had posted "I'd really like a Scotty Cameron GoLo putter".
If I really wanted something that was the same price (or lower) than a days golf at Sunningdale, I'd choose what I really wanted over the golf every day of the week.

My putter is a 40 year old Anser. I have no desire to change it, especially as I only used it 22 times on the greens last weekend! The quality course for me.

i'd play 36 @ sunningdale with a bag of spanners. I played one of my best rounds ever with a bag of ladies woods and some sports direct wilson irons. :o

clubs are overrated, confidence in your clubs isn't

£300 for a putter?????? Wouldn't dream of it....

£350 for a putter, now your talking my language.

Been there, done both! Still have the Putter (though a £40 one from here seems to work better/as well!) and the memories of great days (several times!) and, likewise, also cheaper, equally enjoyable, ones!

Still Golf for me though!

Golf for me.
If I've been given £300 then I'm going to spend it on something I wouldn't normally spend it on.
I find it hard to justify paying more than £100 for a round of golf and a £60 putter will do the same job for me as a £300 one...

Providing the golf was with good company, I'd take the golf. If it was a solo round I might go for the shiny

It would be interesting to see if all on here had £300 to spend how they would vote if given the choice of

Putter or driver.

Playing golf is why I play golf....

Would have to take mates though, because the pre and post game is all part of the experience.

I would never spend anything like £300 on a putter, so it's golf for me, having played Trump last year the pleasure of playing a superb course takes some beating.

Since there is no option for neither I choose the golf. Just back from two days playing Druids Glen. If spending £300 meant a chance for more days like that or having a nice expensive flat stick I'll go for the round. But then I don't think I'd be able to justify paying £300 for either.

Already paid £300-odd for a putter, and for all the nay-sayers, yes it does make a difference (if custome fit, obviously).

Got the Sunningdale trip booked too, so guess I am getting the best of both worlds

Defo the golf for me. Spending £300 on a putter does not mean that it will make any difference to my game and when you reach shall we say late middle age, I would rather go for the exclusive course experience.
