Ever been hit ?

i got whacked in the middle of my back when picking up my balls on the practice range .
bloke said he didnt notice the flag denoting people are up the range picking up balls.
a very near miss was when the hole adjacent to the one i was playing had a chap who sliced his tee shot towards myself and pp ,a big shout and i looked up and saw his ball heading towards my pp ,i just reached out with my left hand and caught the ball inches from pp head.
i was rewarded with a cold one in the clubhouse later.

I also had a near miss sat on the club house patio. A guy in the ditch on 18 hit his 2nd towards the club house. I saw it coming, ducked, and it shattered the back of my plastic chair (classy furniture) and ricocheted into the bar. Tough 3rd shot.

Some canny stories here, gave me a chuckle anyways.
I hadn't been courting my now wife very long and she decided it would be a nice idea to accompany me one evening while I played a few holes. The seventh tee is close to the seventeenth green and I was about to tee off when a loud shout of "fore" ! Went up from the seventeenth fairway. There's shouts and there's frantic shouts, you know the difference don't you? I quickly stopped over with hands around my head and glanced up at my lass who was staring at me with a look of complete bewilderment in her eyes which quickly changed as a golf ball whistled past her as it bounced on the tee box. "What the f***"?!
Haha, she knows what *fore"! Means now !

Yes, hit in the back just below my ribs from a drive. Waved a guy through on a par 5, moved myself well off to the left in the trees and turned to take my water bottle from my bag, next thing I know I am going down like a badly built Ikea dresser. Prick didnt even shout a warning.

Took one to the back of the calf last time out. Replacing the flag on the green after my PP had finished when the gents behind us decided to play a second shot into the green. Ball pitched up and hit me smack bang in the back of my calf. No appology etc but I managed to limp around the next few holes (I'm blaming the injury on my terrible performance afterwards too)

Meyrick Park, 5th hole. PP had hooked his ball into the trees, as we walked out the trees, the guys behind had tee'd off thinking the hole was clear. Frantic shout but I couldn't react in time and got smacked full tilt right on my elbow. Thought it was broken! Guy wasn't to blame, just an unfortunate incident.

Meyrick Park is obviously a dangerous place because I was hit on the head with a golf ball in the 90's when I was standing on the 1st green. Someone hit a wayward shot from the 6th fairway!

Played in a pairs competition at Dundalk once against Irish lads. First of their players tees off, his partner was standing too close and got a mouthful of driver for his trouble!

Paul Casey hit my heavily pregnant daughter in the back with a shank at Carnoustie.

He didn't see it so is non the wiser.

In 55 years of playing and working on golf courses I have never been hit by a ball, club or golfer.:whoo:

Never with a ball but a bloke took his driver out and tried to hit me with it once, him and his wife refused to let us play through and we were into 4 hours through 13 holes - we'd asked 3 times and the 3rd time I may have said a few choice words - next thing I know he's swinging for me
