European perfomance?

Ok so a lot of Europeans finished in the top 20 at Augusta and there were certainly some good performances but is it a case of applauding their efforts – Justin Rose produced some stunning play to get back in the hunt, Donald, Casey and Harrington never stopped fighting and Ian Poulter produced some gd stuff, on the quiet for once.

Or

is it just another case of a clutch of players who are gd enough to win second tier events (as in below the Majors) failing yet again at the final hurdle? How long can people continue to praise their "nearly" efforts? When are they finally going to win one?...perhaps they won't. Rose had a great chance and blew it, Donald blew it straight after a birdie and Harrington fluffed it having clawed his way back...a pattern developing here?

Definitely the latter- no winning mentality or real drive to win the major events. None of those players should be pleased with their performance-they were in a position to win the masters and handed it to Johnson on a plate.

I think people are being too hard on the Europeans-Harrington went for broke on 15 because he was 3 behind, a lay up was out of the question-Over 20 years ago Scott Hoch laid up and still lost hence his nickname of Hoch the Choke. Rose had a chance but fell short.

So much potential for the Europeans but no killer instinct to close out the big individual tournaments. They take themselves out of contention with a double or triple whenever they get close to the top of the leaderboard, they've got the talent they just need more grit.

A very exciting contest but the Europeans just didn't have the edge.. maybe next year. We do actually have some decent young players.

Only interested in the British and maybe Irish players, the Europeans performance is of no interest, this is not the Ryder Cup. Why are we meant to support a Swede or a Spaniard over an American or Australian in the Masters? - personally I'd rather the American or Australian won if not a Brit, I have far more in common with them culturally than Europeans whom we hate at football and most other sports. They only harp on about Europeans in golf because we Brits haven't won a major since Lawrie and before him Faldo.
Well done Zach Johnson, held his nerve better than anyone else.
