To be fair to do a full review would require the whole magazine! What does irk me are the stupid stats that are used like number of putts (as mentioned above). What would be more useful would be a profile on each tester including stats on their current clubs, distances, dispersion, swing speed etc. Then you can look for someone in your ball park and see how they fared on test.
As a newbie you need some objective reference points to at least help you narrow the field. Of my three club purchases I tried a couple of wedges and a few iron sets and retrospectively sought other peoples opinions. And for my putter I got advice from my pro and then came in here for a selection if clubs to try.
I'm looking at buying woods in spring and though I have used reviews to narrow the field, I think there maybe other brands I haven't considered and should have done.
