Enville, Brockton Hall and Beau Desert....

When is that Gordon ? Can only see the one at Enville ?

Enville has been on my hitlist for a while, sure Darren will be up for it too and I might be able to persuade Merv79 if he has any holidays left.

Brockton for me. I play beau desert almost every week with my friend. As nice as the course is its unplayable in the summer with the rock hard fairways and concrete greens. so much so that andy sulivan and Robert rock won't play it in the summer months. Rocky said " you simply have no control over your golf ball"

Beau is superb and the clubhouse and practice facility great.
I have not played Brocton yet.
Enville as others have said, has two courses and great practice areas. The big plus for Enville is the two quality courses. You would need to be a neutral to say if Beau was better but both courses are excellent in my view. The clubhouse is not new, just has a new spike bar which is excellent.

If you need to try Enville before you decide, let me know.

Practice facilities are great?????? The range has matts that are harder than the concrete the're sat on. The balls are dimple free mix &Match, the chipping green is on a vertical slope and the bunkers are void of any sand

Just looked at the Beau Desert website and the course looks stunning, but what a ridiculous name for a Golf course in England!

What a bizarre thing to say, how is it a strange name for a golf club after its named from the house and land it was built on.Should it have been called The Edge of Cannock Chase Golf Club?

Ok then... but I suppose one could regard it as a ridiculous name for a house and land in England on which someone ended up building a golf course? But then we English were always a bit pretentious in using "the foreign" to name our stuff.

Played all three and we also have club matches against them. Have not play BD in match yet but out of BH and Enville , Enville were more friendly.

Of the courses it would have to be Enville for all of the reasons mentioned above, also more relaxed in the clubhouse of the three and at the moment probably the best catering. It also has Enville ale :)

BD are very good with their course updates wether open or not or when next inspection is taking place, but they do play off mats in the Winter, not as bad as some would make out.

Brocton Hall has the stand out Clubhouse for looks and quirkiness for the mens changing rooms, down in the bowels of the house ;) Good parkland course and two nines that come back to clubhouse, where as BD doesn't and only on the Highgate do you at Enville and then it's 50 yards away.

Enjoy your decision making and if you fancy a game at Shifnal just over the border lets us know

Another thing to take into consideration is bd is high in the hills. I have been playing golf at the belfry when my friend can't play bd because of snow. Its crazy

I haven't played BD but did play at enville last year on a Friday afternoon. Very impressed with everything about the place.
Also, which is very important to me, the place seemed full of blokes between 30-50, not only enjoying the golf but the bar/patio afterwards. the social side seemed excellent and not stuffy/old fashioned at all.
Just my own view from one visit mind you.
