As the title says I'm totally had enough of this game and I'm putting my clubs away for the foreseeable future, I've got a game at St Andrews next week with GCD then that's it.

I've emailed my club of 12 years that I want to give up my membership as I find it chore playing there now . This due to the poor condition this once great course is in now and I can't see it getting any better .

Now to dust my bike and get some fitness back and start watching my team again on Saturday.

The weather this year has played havock with many courses.... I'd at least wait until Winter sets in (December?) and see how you feel about it then

I've thought about this for a while James but the course is in poor condition with half finished jobs all over and very untidy, there are a few other things that need sorting out at that club as well, I've decided now is the time to take a break from it.

My son doesn't play anymore so giving it up is a lot easier, it's a shame as it was a fantastic course and a good test of golf.

I came close to this as well, due to my poor play rather than our course which is in great nick. Have had a few weeks away from home course getting knocked out of HDID & Volvo singles but seem to have found a game (of sorts) and enjoying myself again.

With all of the brilliant courses around you could you not play away for a while to rekindle your enthusiasm??

Hope you can

Best

Steve, there are enough top class courses on the Fife coast within 20 mins of you buddy so don't be hasty.

If you fancy a hit on a Parkland course on the central belt drop me a PM and come down, im sure we can sort a 4 ball out.

What a shame you feel like that Steve.
Your course was on my list to play as well, by the sound of it i might not bother for a while.

As usual im still waiting on a reply from my club as to the situation but to be honest my minds made up golf has become a chore.

I was away a few weeks ago to Ireland for a week and enjoyed it but by the end of the week i could have gave the golf a miss as i was going thru the motions.

I've thought about other courses in the area like Monifieth,Alyth but to be honest i just don't have the enthusisiam for it any more, maybe a break will do me good,i don't no we'll see.

Craw is playing mine tomorrow Patrick in the 4bbb open i'm sure he'll review it,he might see it different from me, i don't no but for the past 8 weeks the css has been 74-75 this is due to the lenght of the rough which isn't needed as its a tight course anyway.

Jeez Steve, you really have fallen out of love with your place:(

have never heard you say a bad word about it in the past and in fact youve always been full of praise for the course, so im thinking it must be bad for you to be so down on it.

Looking forward to our game at St Andrews with Euan on the 16th.

Im sure the enthusiasm will come back and youll be out knocking it round again.

This bloody weather is probably not helping either as its hard to look forward to playing in wet conditions.

See you on the 16th

A great shame but you know yourself well enough to know that its time for a break. I would guess you will be back in time. Enjoy the break.

Sorry to hear Steve, things must be pretty bad! If you fancy a friendly game at Alyth I can give you info,or a wee round at Monifieth if you fancy,I came very near to joining there too.I hope you find your passion again bud!
