Playing a round with my boss today. Get on to the first green with a lovely 8 iron and I realize I've left my putter in my car!! A brisk jog and an out of breath me and all was good again. What other embarrassing moments have you had GMers?

Both non golf related ............ but very embarrassing!
I once went on a camping holiday to The Lake District, only to discover I'd left my tent at home!
I once went on a fishing holiday to Ireland, only to discover I'd left all my reels at home!
DOH!

Slime.

When I was a kid my Dad drove me to a fishing match only to find I'd left my rods at home. Don't think I've ever left anything golf related behind but did play in an open at East Berks last year with a guy who forgot his putter

Gave my works car to one of the lads for the weekend and took another which which was cheaper to run, travelled 4 hours to the Belfry and minutes before I climbed onto the Titleist Tour bus realised I have forgot my shoes. Legged it round to the Pro shop and paid well over the odds for a pair of footjoy AQL's

Not golf related, but when I was about 20, and working for a high street bank, a women came in asking for some advice on investments. Pensioner Bonds had just been introduced and you needed to be 60 to buy them. I gave the women all the details, and all seemed to be going well, until she informed me in no uncertain terms that she wasn't even 50 yet.:o. When I was 20, anyone over 30 looked like a pensioner.

Ouch. In my line of business I have to ask age before doing anything as those over 65 cannot apply for the higher rate mobility allowance and therefore not eligible for a Motability vehicle. Best to ask as I'm a terrible judge of age. I blame that there are some rough looking 30's and some fantastic looking 40's women. 20's are different as if there are rough its just because they are ugly, not weather beaten.

A rough 40 can quite easily look pensionable but there have been quite a few 65+ that I've called 50's

Went up for a practice round on Thursday and did the same thing.

Great drive on the first and then a short iron to the green, went to pull my putter out on the walk up and nothing. I'd left it in my front room!

Although I did find out my putting with a wedge isn't too bad.

I thought this thread should be resurrected after my exploits yesterday. Started quite well, but left my birdie putt on the lip at the first. Downhill from there, on the 10th i'm slightly right of the green in 2 having to chip over a bunker
The 3 of us were giving it :whoo: thinking i holed it, but then sadly it popped back out to 12 inches.
So it's a nonchalant tap in yes , noooo i screamed it 30 inches by and missed the putt back .:o.
So point 1 back:mad:

Said it on here before but I still get stick for this one.

I had a bit of a reputation for arriving last minute, shoes changed in the car and straight to the tee so was warned to make sure I got there on time. On this day I rolled up to the club house an hour before tee time and proudly boasted that I was there early for a change.

Shame it was Ballyliffin and we were meant to be meeting at Murvagh.

On a similar note I was struggling to get a match in and had to play it late in the evening after just flying in to Heathrow. Literally went airport -> house and put on golf clothes -> down to the club. Turns out I took my golf shoes out of the car to clean them before leaving so I ended up playing it in my clubhouse loafers.

Played with a guy regulary in the 1990's who forgot his golf shoes when visiting a course to pay & play,he proceeded to the locker room and "borrowed" a pair of shoes that were under a bench,we then went to pay our green fee's in the pro shop only for a member to spot his golf shoes on my mates feet!.The member asked him to return his shoes to the locker room and mumbled something about atheletes foot, highly embarrasing as it was in front of the pro & other members, personally ive never laughed so much on a golf course :).

Played a fancy course with massive greens

had a very long putt and took a big divot with my putter

very embarrassing

Playing in a mixed with the lady captain. Dashed into the woods for a jimmy. Had one of those squirt sideways events.... light brown chinos with large dark damp patch. Wasn't asked to play again.
