Electronic score returns

When running tests last week players were also able to enter a comp via the APP but I do not know if the system takes the entry fee that way.

Do you mean enter a competition in advance or do you mean confirm you have arrived and are playing.

We have IG but still use a a paper based system for the latter so that cards can be numbered so which check for missing cards. We can enter the comp up to 8 days in advance and IG is set up to take the entry fee via the web and players an enter their scores via the IG app.
I mean confirm you have arrived on the day - this is when our club deducts the entry fee.

In IG you can set up a competition to take the fee on entry (which you can do in advance via the IG app on on the club website), or on check-in (which you can only do on the day of the competition via the PSI).

As said we have confirm in the pro shop that you are playing on the day. All cards are numbered so we can double check who actually played and those that failed to return a card. The 2s comp used to be run by them as well so it gave the pro shop a chance to egg players in to the 2's.

As said we deduct the fee in advance and you only get it back if you cancel at least 3 days in advance. Our Saturday comps very rarely have spare slots so it a way of making members commit to playing.
