I love a cigarette on the golf course, i go through probably on average about 15 a round. Thing is i have had bouts of trying to quit but have always gone back to them and find it especially hard on the course (especially on slow rounds)Anyway they are costing a fortune and are sh*t for your health. Saw these electronic cigarettes advertised - they have no health impact and cost a fraction of the cost of proper smoking - could they be the answer? Anyone tried them?

I've tried 'Nucig' which are probably the best on the market.

They do a starter pack for 8 quid where you get a fixed cartridge fag arrive at your door. When you draw on it, you actually get a throat hit, and as you exhale, it releases vapour looking like smoke - it feels the real deal. The end even glows as you inhale.

Did it work for me? Well, no, but I know it has helped many others out.

Better not come and play at our course, there is a smoking ban at the moment. Not surprised after what i have seen on the news at Swinley Forest.

One of the guys up the pub has got one, he was 'smoking' it the other day and placed the lit end on his other half's arm. She screamed out really loud...but then realised it wasn't actually lit!!!

As a passive smoker (!!) they do stink worse than cigarettes I think.

Have a few friends who are fans of the "intellicig" - obviously better not to smoke but if nicotine is your poison google it. ;)

The jury is out on the health implications. Apparently it's unregulated (?) and the quality control is not there, so you could end up massively over dosing or taking in other chemicals (like real fags admittedly).

Have you tried patches? If you don't want to quit but the course is the place you smoke a lot, they could help. I've used them.
