Edinburgh - Golf City!!!

Just counted up all the golf courses in Edinburgh...

21 of them!

Edinburgh isn't even that big a place. Are there any other cities in the UK - or anywhere - that has that many courses (or more).

Not sure where you draw the line as 'Dublin', but according to the Irish golf union's website there are 60+ in the Dublin area.

Obviously a much higher population than Edinburgh though.

If you use Ryan Airs loose geographical accuracy (GLASGOW Prestwick 25+ miles from Glasgow) then you could say that Glasgow has nearer 60-70.

My original count for edinburgh was within the edinburgh city bypass, plus lothianburn, turnhouse, swanston and baberton.

All true, but I live in Portobello and get to Kings Acre in under 10 minutes, same applied to Royal Mussleburgh when I was a member there.

We're actually considering seriously moving out to East Lothian within the next few months... can't wait until i can take my pick of what club to join!!

More than that, if you count the M25 as London's ring road. If you don't, then it is harder to define.

Icf you are counting Dalmahoy as being in Edinburh, then you should include Ratho and Gogar.
