I just sold a wii fit on ebay and then it says payment pending, I read what it said and its say i must sent item to recieve payment. Ive emailed the person to say I will not be sending item until payment recieved. I thought that was the way you were susposed to use ebay.

cheers

Dont send it until you see the money in Pay Pal or you get a cheque and it clears.....end of.

Lynch, Its Paypal/Ebays way of stopping fraud, they hold it for up to 7 days then release it, just tell the buyer that this has happened and you will be sending it as soon as funds are cleared. They should understand, especially if you copy and paste the link from the FAQ's in ebay.

When I "win" an item on ebay, I pay for it using Paypal. Because I don't have any funds in my p/p account, paypal issue an "e-cheque" or something else equally silly and then sit on the money taken instantly from my bank account for about 10 working days before settling with the seller.

Consequently, I don't expect the seller to post me diddly squat until they can see the colour of my money. I usually wait 2 weeks or more to see my item.

I wouldn't post a high value item until either a) you can see the money in your account or b) paypal verify (in a written email) that they "have" the money on your behalf and are just sitting on it.

Unless paypal can "promise" you payment, I'd email the buyer and say (like I get more often than not) it'll be posted WHEN the funds gave cleared.

Paypal make money by sitting on balances, and the system is crap. The fact that you have an e-cheque show that the buyer hasn't got any money in their account to cover the item so paypal will have taken it but won't let you have it for ages. That's the way it seems to work for me, and I don't get upset if a buyer waits as long as it takes.
