eBay appears to be having a bit of bother

eBay, the popular, well known, auction site we all love to hate seems to be finding itself in a bit of technical limbo at present.
Landing page works ok, API for the user names looking ok, try to go to any area requiring a log in... problems...
Try to recover passwords or usernames, unknown. Looks like a serious DB issue or... duh duh duh... a possible hack?

Wonder how much revenue they will have lost in the 90 minutes or so it's been down already...?

Just tried to use a search term, brings up items but when you click through it searches for that item. Looks like DB API to the front end has failed or has been put on a redirect.

Ok here too although an error message appears from time to time "unable to complete request" but just looks super imposed on the page rather than affecting anything.

Back end is probably (well, maybe) still ok. The fetch is probably the issue. But for a site that size with that amount of traffic and some of it working (as above) and some of it not working that would be a nightmare to pinpoint.

its jammed with people trying to buy my rare shoes or Mercedes coolbox I dont use (only 3 on the whole of UK ebay)
