About 2 months ago a mate gave me demo MP52 6 iron to try out. After a few shanks, tops and Fats I hit a couple of shots which can only be described as "silent". The one where you hit it spot on and barely feel or hear contact.
So I setup an ebay search to keep an eye out for a set which might go cheap so I could have a proper go. They seem pretty popular and each set I liked seemed to have lots of interest and would go over my budget. Worst case if I cant handle them I should be able to sell them on ok.
On Monday I got an email from ebay for items matching one of my saved searches - MP52 irons. This search has been running for about 2 months since
A nice lady had obviously been asked to sell the husbands clubs so she advertised them with a Title of "Golf clubs". There was one reference to MP52 in the description which triggered the email to me. If you searched ebay and did not check the "include Description" option they didnt come up in the search. Lucky for me, she had a buy it now option which was too low for the clubs so I feared there had to be a catch or something was a bit iffy.
After a few emails she confirmed it was a full set 3-PW, regular R300 shafts and brand new grips. Also a 56* MP-R wedge and taylormade bag if I wanted them thrown in as well
I reckon it took about 5 secs from me reading her second email to confirming the purchase.
They arrived today and I have them booked in to get the loft and lies checked tomorrow so I can take them out for a round on sunday afternoon.
Delighted with them, but have a pang of guilt that she could have asked for more and got it too.
Just hope her husband was consulted on the "buy it now" price as I really do feel like the cat that got the cream
