Eating in Edinburgh

Well you can tell your grand daughters husband his food is very good, we were in there today for lunch 2 courses £11.95 we had 3 courses with a glass of wine £45

I would recommend this place 👍
Is there a typo? Reading your post the glass of wine and extra course cost £33.05!

Been to Amarone's a few times. The first time through choice following a recommendation, subsequently going with a majority who voted for there. Not had a bad meal there but it just doesn't stand out as somewhere I'd go back to.

I'd call it an Everton choice. Can produce the odd good one but mid-table mediocrity.

Me and Mrs Hogie are up in Embra in September and looking for eateries - will of course take note of all suggested in this thread however has anyone any updates or new suggestions? We are staying in Broughton so within fairly easy walking distance is preferable but not essential.

I was in Edingburgh last week and had lunch at Makers Gourmet Mash Bar, at Bank St. on the Mound, mash with crispy bacon ,spring onions topped with haggis then neeps, simple ingredients presented well and very tasty.

I will be back there for lunch again sometime .
