Hello all,

I posted for advice the other day for Whitby advice, but looking at the weather for next week, things dont look good.

On hols from Tuesday till Sunday, but wondering which courses are ok if the weather is boggy or which are holding up well?

Anyone up for a game, willing to travel up to an hour, if worth it.

Thanks, LB.

after 2nights snow fall of around 2 to 3 inch you might be struggling to get a game, whitby is north yorks not east, not played it, but scarbrough south cliff is pretty good ,north cliffe is good but gets abit boggy in winter, your welcome a\t brough if its open, ganton is your course if you want quailty

As tiger says it's not looking good for East Yorks at the moment, looks like the thaw will be slow when it starts too. I dont think North Yorks got quite as much snow and often the sea protects the coastline towns from getting as much, so you might be lucky.

Hope you do manage to get a game or two in and if one of them did happen to be Brough (which is BEAUTIFUL) dont forget my invite! :)

1 course that will prob be defo open is flambrough head, its around 1 mile out to sea and when most are shut thats open, not the best course in the world but a game is a game,

wherediditgo, your welcome anytime for a game at brough ,just send us a pm when weather gets a bit better and we will go for a knock, which is your home course?

I checked Ganton's site out yesterday which has a daily weather/course report, and it says it has deep frost on the greens so may take time to recover, but I'll monitor it.

Brough looked very nice, slightly far, but if you were up for a midweek game, and weather improves, may be interested. Seaton Carew is the other possible. If the cottage has wi-fi whilst up there, will be checking on a daily basis and looking at teeofftimes.co.uk.

If anyone fancies a knock on the saturday afternoon or during the week, PM me, or even if you fancy a knock at somehwere where your not a member, I've go an open fairways passport so can get 25-50% on some green fees.

Thanks for the heads up, LB.

2 to 10 next week, but off thursday, will wait and see what weathers like, seaton is around 2hr drive for me

Ok fat tiger - PM me your contact details, I may be in touch, weather and HID permitting, but Ive got 2 pass outs for golf, as we speak. I just hope we have WI-FI in the cottage.

Whitby's a nice course. Front 9 plays links the majority of the back 9 is parkland. A couple of knee knocking ravine shots included as well. One out one back in.
Clubhouse is basic but the course was in fine fettle when I played it.

You can find details on both the Yorkshire Golf Forum or website as per my signature. In't that right Brendy!!!

Walking over that bridge twice with my vertigo, wasn't any fun. I couldn't get Indiana Jones and the temple of doom out my head!!!! The round only cost me £9 though, as a 50% discount on the winter fee, with my open fairways passport, so I shouldn't be too critical.
