Apologies all if this has been posted before.
Iv done a search but have come up blank...

As her indoors reads alot she dropped a hint a few months ago that she'd love an e-reader....
So this morning i picked up a Samsung E60 in PC World with a few accessories thrown in for under the tree...

Has anyone got one or do they know anyone that has one?...
Is this model any good?...
From the reviews iv read it seems to be pretty decent.

Whats the story with downloading the relevent e books and where's the best place to get them?

Are you saying that you bought the thing before asking the questions???

Ya Leftie....My internet has been up and down the past few days so i didnt get much access to post :(...

I did ask the shop sales staff...They reckon that there pretty good...They seem to be a bit more expensive over in yer neck of the woods than they are here.

Everything is still unopened though and in its original condition with the reciept intact also....So all's not completely lost "IF" iv made a Boo,Boo.

It depends what you want it for, if it's purely as a book reader I think the Kindle is better and quite a bit cheaper (in the UK anyway). It's lighter and the contrast is a bit better.

The E60 is good though, and has a few extra toys like being able to write on the screen with the stylus / pen etc. Just depends what you want it for. iTunes, Amazon, some of the larger bookstores etc all have ebooks for sale, download them over the internet

got the wife a kindle

Will be perfect, as long as I can get the file converter to work so she can download and read stuff from Fanfiction.net

Annoyingly the next chapter button does not work on the kindle for that site so you have to download the whole story, convert it then read it on the kindle

Got a Sony. Not impressed. Software is terrible so I have downloaded some 3rd party stuff to manage it. Also, and most importantly, the battery does 2000 page turns. Whoopee. Sadly, it runs the batteries down every 4 days, even when turned off, so every time you pick it up, it needs charging.

Whilst you can buy new books from Amazon, Waterstones etc, if you just want something on it, you can buy dvds of the entire back catalogue of your favourite author from flea bay for about a 5er. Not sure on the legality, but they don't seem to get shut down by the ebay mods.

are the ebook catalogues much good? by that I mean is there much choice? I get the feeling that it's packed with the equivalent of chick flicks and suitably earnest 'literature' - either Richard & Judie, the Book Review or Booker Prize.
