Okay, I use e-bay now and then and on the whole I’ve not had any problems. I’ve been looking at a G10 9 degree driver. Yes I’ve got one, a 10.5, but I want a 9 jobby for my links golf.

Anyway, I asked the guy for the serial number and I was told to F off………I kid you not, just abuse. I gave it a second go mentioning the fakes on the go, but my reply was just swear words.

So, TOMO made sure he won the driver and the guy can sing for the money. E-bay can ban me, I don’t care.

haha nice one Tomo, bloody scammers! Just tell ebay you wouldn't hand over cash because he wouldn't provide serial number and he's falsely advertising!

I really like the look of his 'super' golf balls- not. RRP £29.99 his price £6.99 yea right. I'm going to ask him for a serial number for each individual ball in a sleeve. :D

To be fair as an experienced ebayer I think this guy is bona-fide in what he's selling, his feedback reflects that.
Doesn't give him the right to be abusive though.
If you didn't get an answer you wanted I wouldn't have bid, there will be plenty G10's on the go soon enough when Ping launch yet another driver likely very soon.
Would seem a shame to get blackballed on ebay for what appears to be a legit driver albeit from an ill-mannered seller!

Feedback on Ebay doesn't count for a lot in my book.
i bought some "Raybans" off a seller with a long history and 99.7% feedback, shades turned up, obvious fakes and a week later i received a message from Ebay advising to cancel payment if possible and that the seller has been taken off and banned, for selling dodgy gear.

if the guy wouldn't answer a genuine question about the driver i wouldn't touch it with a bargepole!

I won a putting set you know the sort they all fold away in a little case. Well I won it for £1.04 with p+p £3.00, not bad I thought and a small little extra for my dads birthday. 10 days pass and I email the seller asking politely where my paid for item was, no response... two weeks pass and another email chasing and I get one stating he has been in hospital!! (call me a cynic but its the oldest trick in the book) and he states he left it for someone at work to post via Citylink, guess what no item received and I chased again then passed to Paypal to get my cash back or least some decent contact. Three weeks and I emailed saying "look contact me or negative feedback will be left and a complaint raised via EBay if no item is received by Friday (this was last Wednesday)" then no contact by Friday or item I left negative feedback to which he now responds "was in hospital again with salmonella will post Monday", I just said keep the item and cash you need it more than me. Paypal emailed me this morning and said they where in my favour and will refund me.

I am getting sick of EBay though, if Amazon had half decent postage costs I would use them instead.

Have to be honest and say all these experiences on here are axactly why I don't use e-bay for anything on here other than tees, ball markers and other small sundries.

I'd rather shop online where there is a better chance of the retailer a) having reputable goods, b) delivering them and c) getting my money back if it goes wrong.

To be honest though my pro and my mate who is manager of a local AG can normally get me most of the stuff I need and will match lowest internet price anyway so I have no real need to get much online

Never used it and never will heard too many bad experiences including a women I worked with losing £2,000 after getting scammed for Champs league final tickets when Liverpool beat Milan.

Ebay (and in truth the polices') response........

Nowt

Rather pay more for an item in the knowledge that if it goes wrong I can take it back somewhere

Fair point and that’s a point of view I considered, but I did it just to annoy this guy as much as possible. Being honest, it’s not a major issue but anyone who says F off for asking a simple question needs as much aggravation as I can give them. I’m not in the slightest bit bothered about my account on e-bay as my good lady has one and so does my two daughters, so I do have an outlet if need be.

I have my next two moves sorted. Now it’s over to the F word seller.

Ebay's not for everyone I accept, it does have plenty dodgy participants.
I can honestly say however I have bought and sold over 500 items on Ebay and of that only 3 purchases have been problematic.
Taking into account how much ££ I have saved using Ebay I am happy to forget about the 3 misdemeanors which have cost me probably only £55 in over 4 years using Ebay.
I have managed to clear my attic of tons of junk, have sold furniture and even a boat! That money has proved useful for holidays, golf gear etc etc. It's good to recycle, if you don't want stuff someone else will and vice-versa. You have a potential marketplace of millions of people, whereas if you advertise locally you only have a few thousand.
I know it's far from perfect but Ebay has been really good for me. The feedback system has improved a lot recently too.
If the seller has less than 99% feedback, isn't answering questions or is unhelpful just don't bid. For those saying I'll only use my pro-shop, any savvy pro-shop in the UK will be selling on Ebay anyway. :p

I use ebay quite a lot, and have only been tucked up twice (both times by women). Once I did eventually get a refund, the other not. In the main I have had good experiences with it.
Never try to sell a mobile phone on ebay though. Nothing but trouble.

If it was me and I got any abuse from a seller after asking a question, I would not bid. I'd possibly even report them to ebay. To bid and then not pay just makes you the same as any scammer out there, except you are a non-paying scammer.

I've never had any issues with ebay, other than 1 non-payer (this is somewhat frustrating as you get hit for the ebay fees for completed items... then there is the lengthy process for getting these credited back onto your account)

The seller has a 14 day refund policy too - why not get it, and if fake or not as described, return it???

2 wrongs don't make a right etc etc...

I dont think he's or she is a scammer. To be told "you fcuk witt Fcuk off" for asking a number gets the response I feel is appropriate. Even if I got a no from the seller would have been fine.
