Dunlop

Regardless of value or quality, Dunlop's problem is their image. It's the same as Skoda's image in the 70's and 80's.
It'll take a lot of persuasion to convince a golfer to buy Dunlop instead of Ping/Callaway/TM etc

Skoda certainly turned that around. Get the quality, price and marketing right and sales should follow.

In fairness..They have come on in the quality department over the past few years.....Ok the shafts may be the issue for me on their clubs...But i wouldnt hold anything against anyone for playing the brand.....Iv got 3 pairs of Dunlop trousers that i bought here in Ireland in Sports World.... I think its the same company as Sports Direct....... I also have numerous Adidas, Puma, and Ping Polo's....And to be honest...The Dunlop gear is as good if not better than any of the other clothes i have...They wash well, dont shrink in the dryer and have yet to fall apart.....

Ok they have an image issue for some people but i think that if you can get past this the gear is pretty good....
The NZ9 range of clubs look pretty good too.....

What some people have to remember is that there are players taking up the game that for one reason or another may be stretched for shillings.....And i think that brands like Dunlop, Wilson, WilsonStaff, and so on and so forth are a great way of picking up the game.

These seem to have fair shafts and grips:

> Shaft: True Temper Dynamic Gold
> Grip: Lamkin Crossline Black

And sadly will be worthless second hand shotly after buying !

That's true, they may be great clubs but the 2012 NZ9 is now selling at £40 new. The irons were £180 and last time I saw them they were £65 new.

It is a shame that the clubs aren't being given a chance next to the big boys for us to test. Sports direct hardly ever stock these clubs in store so it would mean taking a massive plunge!

Nothing wrong with them at all then SR......Their a match for my Wilson FG Tours.
You'd need a pry bar to get my Irons from me though....

I brought a full set of dunlop pro tour clubs as a starter kit the whole set cost me £120 pounds. But they have enable me to find out if i liked the game and if i could play it. It brought golf into a price range to try.

I've not seen a bad mag review of the N9Z range and pretty sure theres a single fig player using them on here.

As mentioned they don't help themselves but not sticking much in store.

I sport a few bits of Dunlop and have no issue with them:

A couple of Under Armour type base layer tops
A polo shirt
My trusty 9 wood

Nobody laughs, at least not within earshot.
