Actually I took them back this evening, explained and demonstrated the problem to the shop manager and they exchanged them for a more suitable pair without a quibble, even though I had worn them and they were a bit muddy!

Not sure why some scoff at Dunlop to be honest , id say i have 3/4 pairs of their trousers and they are spot on , i did notice what Del said on the ones with the white trim on the back pockets , they are very shallow ...
One of the best tops i ever had was a Dunlop one , looks like a jumper but is a wind breaker underneath , snug as a bug in it ..

that's your local shop manager sacked! SD and customer service are alien to each other.....

Dunlop trousers are made in a random way in my opinion. I've tried three pairs on once that were supposed to be the same size and length and were totally different. Ranging from can't breath in them to clown size. Current colours look great though. Wouldn't buy 'em....ever.
Now you'll be wanting Dunlop to make the pockets bigger.... I can see a theme emerging here, pockets, holes....
The trousers in question were tartan pattern with white edgings around the pockets. They looked very nice, but turned out to be rather impractical. I exchanged them for a plain coloured pair which at least had decent pockets and were even cheaper. Got a credit note from SD for the difference, which was enough to pay for a golf glove.

At least you got it sorted. I wouldn't buy anything from SD out of choice but that's another thread subject.
They do excellent Mizuno branded golf gloves for £4.99. They are really soft and comfortable and last for ages.

As my posts history and current club usage, me likes the better end of Dunlop :thup: (yes, there is such a thing!! )
All my trousers are from Sports Direct and not had an issue with any of them at all to be fair and credit to them for exchanging them.
