Anyone been to see any of the golf there this week, or anyone looking to have a look see at the weekend ?

Thinking of going along to Carnoustie on Saturday to see how some of our victorious Ryder Cup guys are coping with life back at the coal face ;)

Hopefully the weather will stay dry

I was tempted to head down to Kingsbarns yesterday and after seeing it on the telly wished I had made the effort.

I'm playing tomorrow else Carnoustie would have been good.

Weather is supposed to be ok if your going along.

I normally pop down and watch, but unfortunately I'm stuck out here in Ayia Napa. It's hell.
Where are you staying big fella? We got married on Nissi beach and have been a fair few times between us.
Must still be in the high twenties at least Id say.

Managed to get along to carnoustie today with my family to see the golf. A bit on the cool side with a reasonably gentle E - SE breeze coming off the north sea and over the course. It was definately a day to be wrapped up well.

Saw some faily mundane golf from some of the pros, saw some who were going through the motions 'cause they were so far back and also saw some fairly stunning golf from the big boys.

Big John Daly putting with his cigarette between his lips was a cracker, he looked so cold and so 'not wanting to be there'. Els and Westwood had a fair following and gave some good viewing. Clarke and McIlroy had a good bit of banter going and also managed some good golf on the holes we watched. Ross Fisher was impressive, didn't realise he was so tall. Retief Goosen seems so laid back at times, he's almost horizontal. He had a great bunker shot holed on the 8th.

Then there were the Celebs, hats off to the guys who took time to sign autographs and let pics be taken after they came off. It was not the day to be hanging around, but the ones we saw certainly did their fans proud. Messers Redknap, Evans and old Huey Lewis spent a fair bit of time signing autographs. Pleyers also got in on the act, Graeme McDowall seemed happy to go along the whole line of youngsters waiting.

A good day out all in all and as a Scotsman, the fact that entry was free was ideal ;)

Nice one DCB.
Im watching it at the moment......Looks tough out there.......

As for the pics and autograph signing....Ill echo your post.....When the JP Macmanus was on here where i live they couldnt have been more laid back or so nice with people....there a credit to there professions....
Each and everyone of them Pro's and Celeb's alike took the time to have a bit of banther with the crowd and pose for pics and sign autographs.......

The best one i heard was from a group of young lads on the edge of the fairway to Samuel L Jackson........"Hey Sammy......Say What Motha Fucka" everyone in the crowd laughed and Big Sam was histerical....
