You will get a better idea of what the tour players are hitting off the tee. If you are hitting the ball nice and straight with the distance you are saying then I would stick with what you are doing off the tee and concentrate on learning how to make a good score.

Lots of good advice already, also just to note last night at Houston, on the hole were they overlay the driving distances on the fairway, longest drive was 340 and that was off the cart path.........The 300 yd club golfer is a very rare beast..........

One other thing to consider, what's your ball flight like. If it is lowish, then having less loft on your driver will probably lose distance, rather than gain.
