Driving to Ukraine - 2 mates first mooted it the other week, and I thought no chance, as my back has been acting up.

Flights are looking at 1k minimum, though.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of driving in Poland and Ukraine, as may consider it.

May also have 2 £40 tickets for England vs Barbarians for sale for the Sunday 27th, for £70(total).

I seen someone advocating flying to Dubai, getting a sat am flight to Kiev and back sun am via Expedia (I think circa £600)

Roads in Poland were decidedly dodgy.

Any options of overnight trains?

train from warsaw? 19hours 239PLN

good luck finding travel.

Or this:-

The Ukrainian capital is not easy to reach from England. For the intrepid Nick, he’ll take a train from Manchester to Sheffield, fly to Katowice in Poland, then back on a train to Lviv in Ukraine.
From there he’ll travel the last stage of the journey to Kiev, 2,700 kilometres from Liverpool – or a 32-hour drive without a break. There are Liverpool fans driving all the way to Kiev for the game on Saturday.
Nick will return via Kharkov in Ukraine, Istanbul, London and then Manchester. The total trip price is just under £400 for flights and trains and will take four days, made possible by budget airlines, no visa restrictions and a great deal of self-confidence. Football supporting is about so much more than a game lasting 90 minutes.

Ive also got to factor in me and the missus were also due to be in London from the Saturday for a week, so every day back later, is off our holiday together - sods law.

Until the ticket is in my hand, not booing nothing. At least I got the cheap ticket (£140!!!!!!!), some are up to £420 and some are restricted views at over £360!!!! We need to oust UEFA.

Did Moscow to Bath a few years ago and the roads were rubbish untill we got out of Poland with the potholes deep enough to rip a wheel off if you hit them at more than the speed of a snail. Appreciate that I was further north than your route.

Roads in Poland have improved since then but I suspect the Ukraine would be pretty poor.

sports options just put on another day trip. 1k though

It was supposed to go on on Wednesday, then Thursday, then 11 today......

I ended up booking on some possibly dodgy Norwegian company - now flying out Friday Morning, back Sunday morning. Still 1k.

For the Friday night, I may see if Grindr has any Kiev chaps, and just play hard to get for a few hours.;):D

Huge respect to those Reds making the trip....however tortuous!

Nice contrast from the folks in a pub in Woking, never been north of Watford in their lives and it's "we" this and "we" that about Liverpool, Utd etc! :o

...saw a Man City shirt in a pub in Southampton last week. A local. Bet his dad/grandad/cat came from Moss Side!
