Not played this weekend but was passing the driving range so i called in with just a driver. Having real trouble with it. It has to be the first time i've come away feeling no better than when i got there. Struggling to carry the ball more than 175. I tried everything but nothing works. Wondering if leaving it to come back on its on and put it down to low confidence. :D
Its a frustrating game most of the time. Its certainly a love hate thing :D

One tip my pro gave me for when my driver was misbehaving is to go to the range and try to hit it 100 yards then gradually increase the distance you are trying to hit but don't try to wallop it. The controlled swing and better strike sends it miles dead straight. Worked for me and might be worth a try.

That seems something thats worth a try. I think sometimes thats the problem with driver, try and hit it to hard. You dont know you're doing it sometimes either.

Handicap of 8 and driver 175yds doesnt match. Unless your current driver is a dog more likely you just have some swing issues with driver. Go see the pro, its an old answer to everything but in this case its probably worth stumping up the 20 quid to get him to check your driver swing.

I can back him up he is def a 8HC and with a very nice short game BUT I have never seen him hit a drive 175yrds must of been down wind :D

lol. You make it sound like im an old man lol
I do know a guy that hit it 175 max and he was off 6/7. Amazing what a good game 100yards in can do for you

When My driver is broke, I just try to make a 3/4 swing. Its what I tell my pals when they struggle with it.

You never do hit a 3/4 shot, the club still ends up parallel or just short and you lose no yardage.

I find it helps to keep a compact feeling.

Not saying it'll work for you because I dont know what your doing wrong... but it might be worth a go.
