Just skipped through the thread but the cobra would be my choice for first go, had the zl and it was a monster, only replaced with a stiffer shafted cobra (s9 pro). I have found that cobra make great golf kit!

I'll take the credit for that mate....

The Bio Cell + driver may well end up in my bag, along with my cobra irons

Word of caution on the ZL. The "standard" ZL is very forgiving. The ZL Encore on the other hand was their "D3" as it were and is a lot less forgiving than the standard ZL.
I had one and if you with the centre it goes but off centre it's all over the place.
The Motore F1 is a serious shaft as well.

You dont state the characteristics you are looking for in a driver. Have you considered Mizuno for the JPX range? Stiff or regular shaft?

I'm currently in the market for a new driver, and as new models are out of my price range, I intend on conducting a trial of sorts with 2 possibly 3 drivers, and going with the one that performs best on the range. There will be no Trackman/FLightscope stats, just me and a bucket of balls, trusting my eyes and feel/judgement.

So, the first contender which is en route is a Cobra ZL Encore, 10.5 in regular. Got it off the 'bay for under a £100 in very good nick. Also eyeing up an Adams 9064LS too to try it against.

So good forum, what drivers (under £100) should I look for to try as another alternative? No brand loyalty and wil consider anything. After I've tried all 3, I will plump for a winner and sell the other two.

What do you think I should try?
