Never purchased current spec and never will. Let the must have club Pimps have their new driver, because I'll buy it end of the year for £150 notes. Same with all clubs, mpt11 wedges @ £105 each or mpt10 at 2 for £80.

:D I paid £75 for each of my MP-T11's just after christmas. Still more, I agree, but not bad. Well, actually, I paid nothing for them, as I had AG vouchers and a JPX SW to exchange.

And in all honesty, if I hadn't been lucky enough to get my grubby mitts on a shiny new R11, I wouldn't have bought it a full, just released, retail price, because I simply wouldn't have been able to afford it. I'd have waited and got it before the next new'un was released.

Aztec being a mizzy/Nike man, would you have actually even considered the r11

Interesting question but yes, I actually would have done. The only reason I bought the Nike's last year was because I was looking to upgrade my old clubs as cheap as possible as I was only just getting back into the game. But now I've settled, I was planning on upgrading and looking at all options.

I'm not devoted to one brand...only Mizzy when it comes to irons :D I am fully sold on TM for Driver/fairway wood duties though. The R11 is bloomin' lovely.

Likewise. I was in AG at the weekend selling Ping Rapture V2 drivers for £119. Was sorely tempted at that price, if only I wasn't looking for a new putter first :p

Don't say things like that, I paid full price for mine just over a year ago

Please accept my apologies!

What's it like? Read good reviews about it (and just saved myself a few hundred quid on a new kitchen) so may be more tempted this weekend...

I really like mine and at that price it's a steal. I think TheCraw used to use one and liked it too. Give it a wiggle if they've got a practice range, see how it feels :)

Pretty simple, some people want and can pay for the latest and greatest. If I could I would. Also you are compairing apples and oranges with those two drivers imo.

I've never bought a new model of anything. I bought a TM R9 in November for 140 notes and it's a simply awesome piece of kit. The R11 might be the muts nuts but is it £160 better than the R9? Personally I doubt it. Has the technology in the R9 all of a sudden become no good? I doubt that too.

If I were you I'd look at some of last years models or even the year befores if you can find them. You'll get much better value for money than going for this years models.

The price of new kit from some manufacturers is quite ridiculous in my opinion, but if people pay it, they'll charge it

The Pro at my club will be getting them in early Feb and will be selling at £299. He's a Taylormade man so one wiil go in his bag. I'm tempted to make him an offer for his R9. :)

Any opinions on the R9?

The R9 is awesome - buy it if you can

A very nice club. Only hit one 5 or 10 times at the range, but it was lovely. Not quite a "solid" feeling as the R11 (SteveK will vouch for this also), but very nice if you can get it for a steal.

Thanks for the comments Hawkeye and Aztec. I've just thought, bet his club will have a stiff shaft, being a younger guy.
I'll need a regular shaft for my older bones! :)

Will still speak to him though.

Might still be worth an ask. He might be able to swap out the shaft for a reg if he uses his shaft in the R11 (same fitting).

I've seen the old TM Burners down to £79 now. Ok they aren't changeable but they were/are a decent honest bit of kit that will still do a job. I haven't been into these changeable drivers as I'm too much of a tinkerer at the best of times and these would just be too much. Any bad shot has to be the club set up  :D :D

£250-£300 for any driver is too much for me. In fact I can't remember the last time I bought a new driver. My R7 Ltd came via GM and my Burner was bought at least 12 months after they were released
