is 13deg too much loft for a driver? I am looking at the callaway diablo draw driver and would like to know if there are any major pros/cons of 13 deg loft?? :D

Funny enough today the pro I go to told me that the lofts on tour are increasing and to hit low shots the pros manipulate the face and if they do need to hit it high they dont do anything.
I dont see anything wrong with a 13deg. driver. As long as you can hit it well you will be fine. With a 13deg driver oyour shots will probably go higher if you used to have a lower degree driver with same shaft flex. This is good depending on where you play or where you want, links courses are usually more suited to lower degree drivers while parklands are usually more suited to higher degree drivers

Nothing wrong with 13 deg driver if you are comfortable with the trajectory you are getting from it. The technology (and size) in new drivers has seen pro's going to higher lofted clubs - many Tour Pro's are now on 10.5 degree drivers, and it was not long ago that 9.5 or less was the norm. Each to their own.

Have you ever had your launch tested?

Angle of attack?
Swing speed?
Ball speed?
Ball spin?

Without knowing some of this information offering opinion is rather a guessing game.

I know 13 Degrees does not suit my game and would be too much loft, the ball would be spin too much.

That being said, the majority of golfers launch too low and should use more loft, modern drivers are meant to be hit HIGH into the air. If you swing fast then maybe less loft is needed, if not and it goes where you want it then you wont be loosing too much - assuming it does not launch way too high?

I'm sure I was once told that the loft determined how square the clubface is at impact and it is the shaft which determines the height of the shot, when talking about drivers.

I may have miss understood as I'm not ever so technically minded.

Can anyone confirm or deny & explain?
